Cars No Comments »The Accord is one of most in-demand models of Honda that was ever produced. As proof of its popularity, it was recognized as the top selling Japanese produced car from 1982 to 1997. Thus, it is fitting that when Honda conceptualized its racing cars, included in the list is the Honda Accord Type R. Aside from the sleek design which this model is known for, the enhanced speed certainly added to the overall appeal of the Honda Accord.
The Accord Type R or ATR, for short, came into production from 1998 to 2003, years after the Honda NSX R, first generation was launched. In the European market, the ATR cars utilizing the CH1 chassis were sold while the models made available to the Japanese domestic market used the CL1 chassis. The ATR have the following features – Recaro seats, a Momo steering wheel that is leather trimmed, and a top speed capable of reaching up to 227 km per hour.

For the younger crowd, this Japanese car manufacturer has developed what is known as the Honda Civic Type S series. This particular Type S series is available in two forms – the 5-door and the 3-door Civic. Together with the Type R, these three models comprise the line up introduced in the European market.
